Seeing Old Problems Through a New Lens: Recognizing and Addressing Gender Barriers to Equitable Immunization

April 27, 2022

It is only within the past few years that the global immunization community has recognized that gender-related barriers lie on a critical pathway to achieving the goals of high and equitable vaccination coverage. Exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic, these barriers span health systems, communities, and households, affecting immunization across the life course. The MOMENTUM Routine Immunization Transformation and Equity project will be hosting a webinar on Wednesday, April 27th from 8:30 am – 10 am ET. Key learnings around these obstacles and the pathways by which they obstruct equitable immunization will be shared during the webinar. There will also be discussions on the growing global movement to build capacity, commitment, and confidence by country-level implementers to develop and implement strategies to address them.
